KEEPING PACE WITH P.A.C.E. Minimize

The P.A.C.E. students have completed the robot unit.  On this page I have included as many samples of their creations as I could fit.  We have enjoyed learning about the many ways robots are used in our society today and dreaming about possibilities for their uses in the future.  Thank you to everyone who contributed building materials.

THANK YOUs Minimize
Thank you this month to our chaperones and docents.  Sandra Schocket, Toledo Museum of Art docent and grandmother of one of the third grade students,  led us on a wonderful tour of that institution.  Joining us as a chaperone was Andrew Schuman.  The tour included many of the modern artists we have studied this year and also showed students the relationship between math and art.  We wished we had had more time!
The sixth grade students took a walking field trip to the BGSU School of Art's Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibit.  Andrew Hershberger was our guide, and the students had many fascinating pieces of art to view.  Some favorites included computer art, a sculpture of Icarus' wings, a graphic novel, and photography.

BEN SHADOWS HIS CREATION Minimize

Ben was the master engineer in constructing this movable Robotix robot.  He did about 80% of the work, but was at times assisted by Jesse, Gavin, Brad, and other sixth grade students.  He and Brad will be presenting the robot to the third grade class at Ridge as part of their sixth grade project.  The Robotix set was a gift from parent donors several years ago.
