Agenda: Vist the simulation game on tsunamis.  Your goal is to prevent deaths and damage in the community.

 Instructions:

1. Go to http://www.stopdisastersgame.org/en/home.html

2. Click “Launch Game”

3. Click “Play Game” and select  “Tsunami”; select difficulty level “Easy”

4. Read the information  boxes as they pop up.  Click “Next” when you’re done reading them.

One of these boxes tells your “mission” for the game.  Please follow these mission guidelines.  WARNING: The tsunami will hit 20 minutes after you start the game. If you finish spending your budget before 20 minutes is up, you start the tsunami by clicking “Start Disaster”.

Homework: Complete the reflection paper for this simulation.

Homework: Read the Tsunami Fast Facts and create Cornell notes for the following objectives: 1) Describe what tsunami is. 2) List risks during a tsunami. and 3) Describe how communities can protect themselves against tsunamis.
